Buffalo

These Buffalo was spotted in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve about six miles from Pretoria. They are very seldom seen as they live in the reeds. These Buffalo were relocated here and they immediately moved into the reedbeds and since that time they stayed in the reedbeds and seldom move out of the "protection "that the reedbeds offer.

The same happen in Addo National Park as you do not easily see the Buffalo there. The reason is that they were hunted a lot before it became a National Park and going into the bushes were a surviving mechnism for them.
